From Strangers to Soulmates

After earning my PhD and becoming a doctor, the quest for marriage began. My parents rejected many proposals, and as time passed, I grew anxious. Then one day, while returning from the University, I noticed a young man parked on his bike in front of our dorm. He seemed to be waiting for someone.

A Mysterious Presence

Every day, I saw him sitting on his bike, head down, waiting. Our dorm, located in an expensive part of downtown Shanghai, rarely saw bikes. Despite his apparent poverty, he was handsome and piqued my curiosity. Who was he, and what did he want?

Growing Affection

At first, I was confused but gradually felt a flutter of happiness seeing him there. My heart raced each time I passed by. Was I falling in love with him? Despite his old bike, his perseverance suggested strong moral character. I began to believe he loved me, but why didn’t he make a move?

The Waiting Game

Days turned into weeks with no action from him. I wondered if he feared my father’s rejection due to his lower status. I didn’t care about wealth; if he loved me, I would accept him. Unable to wait any longer, I mustered the courage to approach him.

The First Encounter

My heart pounded as I walked up to him. Seeing him up close, he wasn’t as handsome as I’d imagined, but that didn’t matter. He seemed shocked but raised his head as I asked why he stood there daily. He simply replied, “Because that’s what I want.” We chatted briefly, and he offered me milk tea. We shared a cup before he left for his business.

Love and Separation

Our meetings were rare, and soon the winter vacation and pandemic separated us for over a year. Communication was impossible, and all transportation was halted. Finally, after being vaccinated, I returned to the city, wondering where to find him.

Reunion and Joy

I revisited our old haunts, waiting and hoping. Eventually, I went to his school and waited outside for two days. When I saw him emerge from the canteen, I called out. He ran and hugged me tightly. We had lunch, catching up on lost time.

Happily Ever After

Time flew by, and we both completed our studies. After finishing my PhD, we married and started our careers. We now have a beautiful baby girl named Mehbooba. We live a happy life, cherishing every moment together. True love knows no boundaries.

Our story is a testament to the enduring power of true love. Despite challenges and long separations, our love never wavered. Love truly has no boundaries.
